Energy from the sun

Solar energy is an important renewable resource. As long as the sun continues to shine, this energy resource will be available. The solar panels that are used to capture this energy are pollution-free, noise-free, low maintenance and fairly easy to install.

Typically, solar panels are installed on a roof or the property—making them a perfect match for church buildings. Installing these panels allows a congregation to care for creation—and also lower energy costs.

While the long-range savings are clear, upfront costs can seem overwhelming for congregations. If your congregation is considering installing solar panels, seek expert advice. Companies such as Collective Sun and SunCorp can help guide non-profit organizations through these projects.

The Mission Investment Fund provides loans for solar projects.
